An urban oasis of history and nature
It is a national park that surrounds Kyoto Imperial Palace, etc., and used to be a town of court nobles. There are about 50,000 trees of dozens of kinds, and plum, peach and cherry blossoms bloom every season. There are many historic sites such as the Hamaguri-gomon Gate, which was a fierce battle during the Kinmon Incident, and the Shusuitei teahouse of the Kujo family, the top court noble in Japan.
