Specialty restaurant serving traditional eel dishes. Trained craftsmen carefully cook high-quality eels. We recommend the unaju or ohitsumabushi, which you can fully enjoy the kabayaki grilled with the secret sauce.
The shinobi-jyu (single eel) dish is priced at 8,690 yen and features an eel so large that it protrudes from the ceramic bowl. The eel is also served under the rice, making this new menu item very hearty.
Fragrant Hitsumabushi 5,280 yen. Serve with thick broth.
For an additional 1,870 yen, you can upgrade the eel menu to a set meal, which includes sashimi or tempura, 3 small plates, pickles and soup (can be changed to eel liver soup for an additional 220 yen).
In July 2024, a branch, “Kyo Unawa Honten Jingu-michi” will open near Heian Jingu Shrine.
