The view from the two windows is a must-see!
Once in decline, it was revived in 1694 by a monk from Daijyo-ji Temple. Famous
for its round“ Window of Enlightenment” and square “Window of Lostness,” the
windows off er views of the four seasons.
[Window of Enlightenment, Window of Lost]
The circular Window of Enlightenment represents the mind of “Zen and Entsu,” and the circle represents the macrocosm. The square-shaped Window of Lostness symbolizes the “human life” and represents the four suffering and eight pain points of life, aging, sickness, and death.
