Western Cuisine, loved by Kyoto people for 100 years
Founded in 1897, this is a long-established Western-style restaurant representing Kyoto. The specialty is the hamburger steak wrapped in aluminum foil and served hot. The salad made with whole tomatoes is also exquisite.
The hand-ground minced meat has a higher proportion of beef than pork, which is more to the liking of Kyotoites.
Hyakunen Western-style hamburger steak is available as an individual dish or as part of a lunch set.
Adding lard to the frying oil takes the taste of the batter up a notch. Fried shrimp is the main dish of A Lunch.
The whole tomato salad has as many fans as the hamburger steak. Tuna salad and homemade dressing play a supporting role.
