Hogon-in Temple

宝厳院 秋冬ver タイアップ  vol19[保存版]

This is a unique Japanese garden with a bright red color that can only be seen now.

It is a sub-temple of Tenryuji Temple. It was built in 1461. It is usually closed to the public and is only open to the public in spring and fall. The megalithic garden is a reproduction of a garden built in the Muromachi period. You can appreciate moss and as many as 300 maples.

Entrance fee: Garden 700 yen, Main hall 500 yen(Prayer fees are subject to change.)
Parking available at Tenryu-ji Temple (Charged, available only during daytime)

Closing dates : Open every day during the special opening period (may be suspended due to Buddhist memorial services, etc.)
