”Kyo-sudare” is popular overseas as interior decoration

Sadare (blindfolds) have been used in Kyoto since ancient times as a blindfold as well as a sunshade. Made of natural materials such as reed and bamboo, sudare have been incorporated into our daily lives and are becoming popular overseas as interior decorations. The company's president, Mr. Kawasaki, and his team of craftsmen have many years of experience and offer a wide range of sudare, from small to 2.65m in maximum length.

The lineup also includes a number of SUDARE products with modern designs. The strength of the materials used is also a feature of the sturdiness of these products.

  In the workshop located in the back of the store, craftsmen make sudare by machine or by hand.

  Amutas lampshade 25,850 yen. A lampshade created with the original sudare (bamboo screen) combined with ajiro (white striped bamboo screen).
