Delicious food selection store Satonogohoubi Miyama-do

This select food store offers a variety of delicious Miyama products, including handmade jams and miso (bean paste) from producers active mainly in the Miyama area. There is also an eat-in space where visitors can taste homemade sweets such as baked sweet potatoes with concentrated sweetness baked in the store. Every month, on a limited number of days announced online, the shop sells “sato-no-hohobi bento,” a lunch box full of seasonal delicacies specially prepared by Miyama's delicatessen “Enya” (reservations through Instagram are better).

The photo shows baked sweet potatoes baked slowly at a low temperature. ‘Fukumurasaki’ (back) and ‘Akanekomachi’ (front) are 280 yen per 100 grams each.
‘Fukumurasaki’ has a rich sweetness, while ‘Akanekomachi’ has a sticky texture and a mellow aroma. The sweet potatoes are produced in Miyama.

  Making original wild herb tea. You can choose from seven kinds of wild plants, including mugwort and red shiso, and blend them freely.

  Handmade ohagi (rice balls) made by the mothers of Miyama are 430 yen each. Made from black rice, a type of ancient rice, they are rich in aroma.

  Mochi Okaki (sticky rice cracker) 480 yen. Non-fried rice crackers with the gentle sweetness of rice. Four flavors are available, and the contents change depending on the season.
