Meet in Kyoto the new world of craft
The Okazaki area is home to Heian Shrine and the Kyoto Kyocera Museum of Art. The Kyoto Museum of Traditional Industries is located on the first basement floor of Miyakomesse, one of the largest event venues in Kyoto. The museum exhibits 74 items from Kyoto's traditional industries, including Nishijin textiles, Kyoto Yuzen textiles, Kyoto Kiyomizu-yaki ceramics, Kyoto lacquerware, and other crafts. Through easy-to-understand explanations of the production process on panels and video materials, visitors can learn about the beauty and techniques of a wide variety of traditional crafts in a systematic manner. The museum store offers a wide variety of crafts. Come and experience the world of craftsmanship and beauty that has been passed down through the generations in Kyoto.
