With a history of over 400 years, Kumamoto Castle Inari Shrine was recommended by Lord Kato Kiyomasa as the guardian deity of Kumamoto Castle and the surrounding town. It enshrines various deities for prosperous businesses and abundant harvests, and is affectionately known as “Shirahige-san”. The unique kaiun mizu-mikuji fortune-teller is also popular.
